Set the scene…
In today’s scripture, we travel with Jesus outside of Jewish territory to the area of Tyre and Sidon just north of Galilee. This is one of the few times that Jesus enters a Gentile area during his ministry. He retreats from the crowds and religious critics with his disciples, but a Canaanite woman from the area seeks him out to heal her daughter from a demon.
